Boating Safety Class

Our Boating Safety Class exceeds New York State certification requirements.

Taking a boating class reduces your risk of accidents and injuries and may save you money on boat insurance.

The navigation portion of this class gives you virtual "hands-on" training in the art of piloting your boat from one place to another safely and confidently. Learn how to accurately read a chart, compass, and GPS while reaching your destination safely.

Who needs a Boating Safety Certificate?

Under Brianna's Law, all power-driven vessel operators:

  • Anyone born on or after Jan. 1, 1978, will need a boating safety certificate by 2024.

  • All operators, regardless of age, will need a boating safety certificate by 2025.
